How Your Order Travels Sustainably

We’re pretty much allergic to plastic, so you won’t find it in any shipping materials for your orders. Instead, we are using FSC Certified, mostly-recycled cardboard boxes with shredded, down-cycled cardboard and other paper-based packing. All 100% recyclable by you. Plus, we’ve sourced eco-friendly packaging tapes with biodegradable and non-toxic adhesives.

We chose a central, Midwest-based distribution partner to optimize nationwide transport. They use a fancy-schmancy machine that creates your box on demand to fit your order, minimizing size (and cardboard used) and transport footprint. Plus, they have their own eco-friendly practices like full, on-site recycling, fair wages and work schedules, etc.

Why we’re not in the free shipping club

OK let’s unpack it: we’re a young, small business so we’ve got to charge you some shipping to cover our costs. If you’ve ever considered a Kickstarter contribution, this is the equivalent way you can support us getting started. And, this is one area we consumers have to start trading convenience (ahem, behemoths with ‘prime’ benefits) for larger responsibility… are you with us?  

Offering USA Shipping + International Special Requests

We currently ship to all 50 U.S. states from our warehouse in Zionsville, IN.

If you’re interested in an order to Canada or elsewhere in the world now, email us at help@sustainabletravelandliving.com with a list of the items you’re interested in and we’ll help you place a special order (with associated international duties and import fees).

Your order will typically ship out within 24-48 hours, on weekdays, by your chosen method. We’ll hit you up with an email confirmation and tracking info if it’s coming from our warehouse.

In some cases, items will ship separately, directly from the manufacturer to typically arrive within 5-14 days; this will be noted on all your confirmations (also, hooray for saving here on transport energy!).

Return Policy

Part of our model is encouraging slower, more thoughtful consumerism above convenience and mass consumption. Our return policy is therefore limited by design and your understanding is another layer of support for our business!  

We will consider returns within 10 days of delivery, if items are in original packaging and we’re able to re-stock it. (Unless otherwise marked as ‘final sale’ per our Terms of Service.)

Sure you won’t consider a re-gift? OK, email us your refund request within that 10-day window to help@sustainabletravelandliving.com. You’ll need to pay to ship it back to us and then a refund will be issued ASAP, less a $3 re-stock fee, once we confirm items can be re-stocked.

Damaged or incorrect items are another story. Email us within 10 days (see a theme here?) of delivery at help@sustainabletravelandliving.com, with description and pictures (mandatory fun) of any specific issues, and we’ll do our best to make it right, on a case-by-case basis.
